Hobby Lobby 30% off sale!
Posted by panzerpilot on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 11:26 PM

Was at hobby lobby today and got a few nice kits 30% off. If you go online, you can print out a coupon for one purchase for 40% off. All model kits are 30% off. Sale ends on the 9/24

The game at HL is that the 40% off coupon only applies to items not on sale, so they won't honor it if the item is already on sale for 30% off.  Sometimes you can find a rookie cashier who doesn't understand this, and will take the 40% coupon.  I have lucked out on this a few times!

Bingo.  I go up with my most "I'm just a guy so I don't know how to shop, let alone use coupons" look and I say to the cashier very sheepishly "Can I use this with this?"  If they say no then I say okay.  If they take pity on me and say "sure" then WOO-HOO!  (Screamed in my head in my best Homer Simpson voice.)

That trick worked big time for me.  When I bought a $300+ airbrush compressor that was on sale for 30% off, I  looked for the youngest, greenest looking cashier, and just presented the coupon- and she honored it!  Woo H00 is right, that was worth an extra $30 so I scored a total of $135 off!  I'm sure the store will survive.....
