Issue with Future

I think I got lucky with the haze. The decal pulled off 4 little spots of future when I removed it. My understanding is that when I spray a new layer of future it will smooth out the areas that were pulled off and blend the whole area together. Does that sound right?

I've had that problem, even after letting the Future cure for days.  I also have had the problem that I am not fast or precise enough with my decal placement when using decal set.  The decals would snug down in the wrong spot and I would damage them when I tried to fix them.  I switched back to using plain water to place the decal and then use decal set (or sol, or sol-va-set) after they were just right.

That's interesting. I've only had that issue when I didn't let the Furture cure for at least 24 hours. I've always used MicroSet & MicroSol with no problems on Future (with the above exception). And, now that I've said that, watch me have a problem with it from now on!!

 I mounted the decal on the helo deck with lots of water to get it where I wanted and then added a little micro sol and it turned out fine. A little cloudy for a couple hours but then cleared up. Since the decal from the bow was toast I hand pained the markings and it looks fine. The paint line areas have raised lined in the deck so it was pretty easy to paint with some thinned flat white over the future. I think the real issue was when I knew the decal was destroyed I lifted it off and it pulled the future up with it. Disaster averted.
