Posted by Ripcord on Saturday, November 19, 2011 8:40 AM

Hey everyone.  I got an email from squadron  starting black fri.  I am interested in maybe these and am wondering if they are a good deal or not?   First is a Pz.Kpfw.I Ausf.C (VK 601)
1/35 Scale for 19.99 (Hobby Boss) and second is a 72nd B-17 vsersion G for 19.99.  Are these good deals?  Thanks.

$20 for a 1:72 B-17? That's a good deal, compared to the prices we have down in Tasmania!

Not a bad deal for the B-17, depending on the market in your area.  My LHS had the kit priced in the mid-20's I believe, so the Squadron price + shipping would be close.

Take a few minutes and check out the competition-Great Models & Sprue Brothers and see how they compare.

The B-17 looks like a great kit-I thought about adding one to my stash when it was at my LHS.

Not only compare prices, but also search the net for reviews.  Even low prices don't warrant buying a bad kit.

review HOBBYBOSS - Pz.Kpfw.I Ausf. C

No, you have to put FRIDAYSALE in the coupon box.  And yes, I think it's a good deal.  30, 40, 50% off depending on total price of order, plus free shipping on everything.  I just snagged the new Tamiya 1/32 P-51 for a little over $90.

I found some incredible savings last night at Squadron; I mostly bought up a bunch of resin, PE and decals sets for 1/32 A/C, some paints and a 1/32 Su-30MKK for around $80.   I should be set for the winter modeling months ahead.

I too went to Squadron and picked up some good sales. Then I had to go to Sprue Brothers and do the same thing! I love Black Friday when I'm sitting behind the computer and away from the crazy masses in the stores!

I'm pretty good on kits, so I decided to make use of that amazing Squadron Black Friday sale to load up on decals, masks, some PE sets that I love (picked up multiples of Eduard's P-47 Placards set...nice details + a great throttle quadrant for my multiple Tamiya Jugs).

Ran the cart up to $160 or so.

Then I did the math, added a 1/32 Tamiya P-51, entered the coupon code, and dropped down to $150. With free shipping.

I'm happy! Big Smile

On the Bench: 1/32 Trumpeter P-47 | 1/32 Hasegawa Bf 109G | 1/144 Eduard MiG-21MF x2

On Deck:  1/350 HMS Dreadnought

Tojo72,  You are correct that the Hasegawa 1/48 F-22 Raptor is a great deal for $31.99.  I bought one on a sale at Squardron last June for about $35 and just finished it.  It's a thing of beauty!
