Downloadable font for missile/rocket markings?
Posted by dirkpitt77 on Saturday, December 3, 2011 4:17 PM

Does anyone have a source for the correct font or a close one for U.S. missile or rocket markings?  WW2 era or modern is fine, either way.  I'm building a PVC container to hold scrap rod and other scratchbuilding stuff, and wanted to paint it up nice so it looks like a 500lb bomb or HVAR or AIM-9 or something.

            Thanks!

I once bought a decal set from Estes, the model rocket company. It contains all sorts of US Air Force, US Navy, United States, USA, USAF decals along with US flags and star & bar insignia. A second sheet includes black, red and white generic lettering. I've had it for a while, the sheet is labeled PN 037606.

if you are looking to download it as a picture and print it and use it as a decal or stencil try www.dafont.com. we used alot of fonts from this place for my marketing class last year. just type what you want in the demo box, save the pic of the word and you can re-size it as you see fit. would probably make a better stencil as you cant re-color it on the website i don think.

Yep, that's exactly what I wanted to do.  Type out the words, print, then cut them out and use the sheet as a stencil.  I'll try that site.  Thanks!
