HEY  , Carry on there my friend .Tis a sad loss , But his spirit lives on in your work ! May he find eternal peace .  My grandpop taught me woodwork , so I was doing about 1/200 scale destroyers and submarines before anyone knew what plastic was . I still do wood , but many of the skills passed over to working with plastic .Thanks grandpop !                tankerbuilder

Scorpiomikey
And i remember seeing a wooden wing frame with a clear satin type material stretched over it.

Sounds like balsa frame with doped silk-span covering. Takes a lot of skill to get that stuff to look good. Sorry for your loss, may he rest in peace.

After asking around the family it appears there are no photos (at least not with the family) of pops models. Dad said he did alot of flying wing gliders. And i remember seeing a wooden wing frame with a clear satin type material stretched over it. But beyond this i just have word of mouth.

Sorry guys.

Thanks for the kind words.

7 Dec 1925 - 30 Nov 2011

On Tuesday December 6th, we committed my grandfather to the earth.

Hector Archiable (Ash-A-Ball) Denton is survived by 3 children, 6 grandchildren (of which im the youngest) and 7 great grandchildren.

Im posting this here because pop was a modeller. He built and flew remote control and im sure he built static kits too.

He was a great man and ill miss him.

Scorpio;

So sad to hear about your loss;

Yes, please post some of his builds....would love to see his handi-work!

No better legacy than to pass the torch!
