MINDLESS BUILD ??
Posted by tankerbuilder on Saturday, December 17, 2011 11:13 AM

In our sister publication, ( SCALE AUTO) I believe it was MATTHEW or AARON that did an article about a mindless build . I found the perfect one for me . Many , many , years ago there was such a thing in school called " shop class". In this class we actually worked with wood or tin . I chose wood first and tin second .My wood project was a , I am going to say ,near 1/144 scale wooden DORNIER DO-X .The odd looking seaplane with the six engines (PUSHME/PULLYOU types) On top of the wing . Odd little guy but fun and I got an " A " in woodwork because I finished my project on time and got the grade . PAPA was happy and so was GRANDPA  . Why GRANDPA ? He actually saw the real plane !! Well , my local hobby purveyor has a consignment area and I found the ENTEX kit of the same plane in 1/144 . Talk about models being time machines ! This build is about as mindless as one could get , but , took me way back in memories . I have not finished it yet as I am refining the looks and the surface of it . All in all a MINDLESS BUILD ! You should try something like this when you,ve hit a slump on that ARMOR , AIRCRAFT or SHIP kit . If you do this when you get done or even halfway there ,you,ll find the creative juices starting to flow again .There you have it . Try one ,you won,t be disappointed .        tankerbuilder

Here's mine, finished this year. It's a pretty nautical set up, from the bridge to the engine control stand

It's got me looking at 1/144 seaplanes....
