TO CLEAR THE AIR !!
Posted by tankerbuilder on Monday, December 19, 2011 4:40 PM

I may get get kicked off by the moderators , but I have lost my patience .What difference does my correct rank make from over forty years ago ?? I was talking about using photos to justify a build  !! I don,t post photos .I don,t have anyone that will sit down with me and step by step show me how .The verbal stuff is so much chicken scratch to me .I only learned how to e-mail since I,ve lived here .NO these folks DO NOT move photos around from one site to another .The thing is what is your problem ???You seem to think that everyone should take to these machines like you or the younger generation .My businesses did,n,t even have computers okay !!.Now , lay off the critiscism of my person . I came here to share my many years of experience of modeling with a like minded group , OR SO I THOUGHT ! You may not have heard of MINSHIPCO , but I only do legal projects that are legal related or COAST GUARD related and not for public purvue .I also have many years building for ATTORNEYS . If that isn,t enough maybe I ought to leave and let you pass on what knowledge you supposedly have OR DO YOU !!! There it,s said .I apologise to the moderators and the MAGAZINE staff who make this site work .But I just got tired of the B.S.!!! G.J. GERACCI-PRES.-MINSHIPCO MODELS .

If this is to do with the "Pics or it didnt happen" comment i made like months ago, it was only a joke, its something our generation (Mid 20's and under) use to have a laugh, like if someone says like "OMG this girl was dancing and her boob popped out" the typical response is "Pics or it didnt happen"

Like i said i was just having a laugh.Didnt mean anything by it.

I'll give you a little bit of friendly advise.  Don't get bent out of shape because of things you read on these or any other forums.  The internet is a breeding ground for insults, arguments, words taken out of context, mis-information, cyber bullying, trash talking and just about anything else you can think of.

People sitting anonymously behind their keyboards will type alot of stuff that they would never say to your face.  That's just the way it is.  If you are going to venture out into cyberspace you're just going to have to accept that.  Realize that some people just look forward to being jerks online.  I don't know why but I do know that it isn't going to change any time soon.

Also realize that alot can be lost in translation.  Sometimes a message can be received incorrectly because it was typed and not spoken.  Not having the non verbal cues can make a big difference in perception.

Hello . What prompted the post was brought on by the constant bickering about what I said my military rank was in the late 60 aboard a carrier .So I may have made a mistake .There,s a lot of trauma under the bridge of life since then . I share knowledge and if I misspeak well I am not the brightest bulb ,like I used to be .It,s frustrating to me that people would worry or comment on my rank mistake instead of why the model was rejected for a contest and my reaction .There are some who,ve come and explained statements they made and that is water under the bridge .Your comment , you know who are,(a different modeler) has been explained to me and I must say I had an embaressed laugh . The other comments about my person or my real rank or other personal items should in my opinin should not be said .I was raised NOT to question , just pay attention to the lesson being given .I got that from high school .I do have things that cloud some parts of my memory .That happens when you are one of 69 that walked ? away from a commercial air crash . I got my bell rung hard .And little details about that time get fuzzy sometimes .My model building skills and comments areNOT and are, to share and to help the newbies .I,ve got no one here in my town to share with .They are mostly model railroaders here . I am not . well there you have part of the reason Thank you for your input .        tankerbuilder

I feel somewhat chagrined .I meant to write you and we,could,ve gotten a laugh .My landlad,ys daughter explained what you said and what context it was in .MIKEY my skin don,t seem as thick as it once was .I now know ,you at least , were justbeing lighthearted in todays jargon . much of which I still in the dark on . It seems You din,t do nuttin wrong so it ,s gone under the bridge of life .Thanks for clearing that up .I apologise for being so sensitive to what is said to me .HECK at my age I am still learning and when I do it,s changed again knowwhatImean !!  anyway I now know what you meant , sorry for getting upset !     tankerbuilder

Friend, you really need to switch your commas and apostophes around. You obviously use them, but they're backwords. It would help to read what you type.

.What difference does my correct rank make from over forty years ago ??

You're probably talking to me, TB...

The reason I raised the question is simple... There are too many damn military posers out there, especially on the 'net, and even moreso in forums whose members are not made up of largely veterans, like this one... When a person claims a military background, service, or veteran status, then makes mistakes in certain aspects of their story, I become suspicious...   There are certain aspects of one's military background that one NEVER forgets...

I'm not just talking about combat, I'm talking about certain things like units, class numbers, roster numbers, ODA and ODBs, and yes, even military RANK...

You identified yourself as Chief Master Sergeant... That rank only exists in the USAF, and you didn't claim to be a Zoomie, but a Marine, I believe.... Naturally, my "spider-sense" started tingling.. That rank doesn't exist in the USMC (not even Fourty years ago), nor does it exist in the US Navy...

When you didn't respond to it, it didn't help...

While I apologize if I misidentified you, I'll not stop exposing military posers, wherever they pop up...   "Stolen Valor" is something I take seriously, and I do it not just for me, but for every one of us who wear or have worn the uniforms of the US Military...

Just for curiousity's sake, and to really "clear the air", what exactly WAS your last rank?
