Free Modeling Supplies
Posted by iraqiwildman on Monday, January 9, 2012 4:52 PM

I watched a youtube vidoe about Puritan Medical trying to get into the modle supply business, so I visited their website and requested some samples. this is what they sent me:

I got the model/artisan set, gun clean set and a couple others. Lots of good cotton swabs that are very tightly wound, some foam applicators, wood flat and pointy things. They sent a letter along with the samples and asked me to rate them on their website.

Their site is http://puritanmedproducts.com/product-information/request-samples.aspx   I clicked all the boxes and added that I was a plastic scale modeler in the comment box.

Yeah I didn't see them either so I just checked all the boxes and said I'm a plastic scale modeler. We'll see. But if we like, what then? As far as I could tell, no buying direct...

Well, I just got a manila envelope with pretty much the same stuff:

Industrial wood products

Beauty/barber sample pack

Gun cleaning and arms maintenance sample pack (!)

Hobbyists and artisans sample pack

The stuff looks pretty good - especially the pointed cotton swabs.

Thanks for the heads up on this!

Thanks for the link. I'll give it a try too. The samples look good in the pics.

Glad to see you got this so quick, it took abut 3 weeks for me, but that was over the holidays. I really liked the gun cleaning pack, lots of tight cotton swabs.

I just filled in the form a little while ago. It went through OK.

Thanks for the link.

I am glad you guys are doing this. I used some one the tightly wound q-tips to clean up the decal setting colution residue and they di not leave any lint behind. I need to find more of these.

The tightly wound ones that go to a point can be found in the beauty section of the Giant. Some have the point at both ends and some have a flattened oval on the other end. The ones with the double point aren't there all the time but the others are. They only cost a few bucks for a good sized pack.
