Google Chrome and spell checking
Posted by wing_nut on Friday, January 13, 2012 9:10 AM

Yes, I know there is a community assistance forum by let's face... who goes there?

Anyone using Chrome?  With IE there is a spell check button on the right side of the tool bar (ieSpell) when writing a post.  Not in Chrome though, unless I am missing something.  Only way to spell check is to right click each word individually.  And as soon as you make a different paragraph, the red line under all the misspelled words disappears.  Short of typing in a word processor and cut/paste... Is there a way to better spell check with Chrome?

Hi Wing_nut,

First, when you're in Chrome, click on the edit tab and highlight Spelling and Grammar. You should have three options: Show Spelling and Grammar, Check Document Now, and Check Spelling While Typing. Put a check mark next to the last one. That should highlight misspelled words as you type.

Best,

TK

Is your Chrome updated? My spell check works as I type when Iuse Chrome. I do notice that if I click in the box it thinks I am ignoring the errors.

I must be missing something, or being particularly thick today...hey, it happensWink.. but the only "edit" that I can find is in my post under the " More" pull down.  I can't seem to get to anything that says Spelling and Grammar or those 3 options.
