I don't know why so many peeps have a vendetta against Squadron - I order most of my stuff from them... I have had too many bad experiences from some of the other internet-based (U.S.A. - based) as well as foreign) stores... Such as:

* Orders that take so long to be processed and finally arrive that I have long forgotten why I wanted it or lost interest in the subject

* Or, it finally arrives, but half the stuff is not there - "Out Of Stock" (WTF why do you have it on your website then???)

I pretty much only buy stuff on special deals, such as my last order - Special Hobby's F2G Super Corsair - the racing version - got it for about $35, all the other places will charge you a more.

Plus it was actually mailed within a couple of days of me placing the order, and was delivered within a week. Nope, I'm done dealing with the Other Guys :-P ....

(And no, I don't work for Squadron!)

I don't know who else you're dealing with but it isn't some of the other big ones or you wouldn't have those problems...I don't have a vendetta against Squadron I just know that their search-engine sux BIG time and everyone else (almost everyone) agrees with that.  Can the truth not be told anymore?  And, I actually dropped over $200 bucks on them the past couple of weeks because they did have some things that I needed and couldn't find elsewhere.  By the way, their search engine was no help in finding these items--woulda spent more probably if it worked.  I found what I wanted in the "NEW" and "Magazines"  sections...no search required.

Manstein's revenge

 Manstein's revenge:

....Now if you wanna talk about their search-engine, that's another story.

Totally agree. Its one of the reasons I do not buy from them. Very difficult to find what I'm looking for. To many other places that do a better job.

Their flyers are still better than the regular paper ones. I still have a boxload of those. I ran across them a few months ago with the oldest one in that box being Dec 1998. One of the specials that month was the Hunnicutt Sherman book for $69.99, a book that often goes for $200-250 today.

Agreed, it's a hard flyer to read.  Too much stuff squeezed into too little space.  Sometimes it's hard to tell which picture goes with with description, and sometimes there is no picture at all.

If in doubt about an item I'm interested in, I'll check it out on their web site.

Reminds me of the full-page auto ads at my old newspaper. They crammed as much as they could and legally they couldn't be under 7 pt. in type. It was very difficult to meet those numbers.

IMO it's not so bad; remember their Xerox'd flyers of the 80's?  Those were hard on the eyes.

Do these bother anyone else?  For several months now, the page makeup folks there are resizing pictures without cropping or holding the aspect ratios.  So, if the original picture has a different aspect ratio than the spot available, they resize the width and height independently!  The result is a weird looking subject, either very elongated or super-stubby.  This tends to make me shy away from these offerings.  I am sure the real kit doesn't really look that way, but it is a real turn-off to me.
