P.E.-RAILS or a GLUTTON for PUNISHMENT
Posted by tankerbuilder on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 3:46 PM

Hi , ya,ll !  I have acquired some P.E. RAILS . They are really super . The problem is ---- They are TAMIYA -DETAIL-UP parts series number 12642 - 1/350  scale handrail set " A '  They are very well done , I might add .The punishment part is . You get all these great two run and one run stanchions .Some with 90 degree angles on the bottom some at about 45 degrees and the regular staright ones .Okay that said , now comes the good part .They have all these finely wrought loops in the sides .What for ? well , to run the hair thin copper wire through! ,  silly !  Can you imagine doing a ship the size of the U.S.S. NORTH CAROLINA in 1/350 with nothing but these critters? I got them for the 1/350 LITTORAL combat ships I have on the bench . Why ? well the surfaces are not all straight 90 degree angles . So the different types will do the job . I just didn,t know that you had to run this teensy- tiny wire through them when I ordered them . They are P.E. RAILS you know . This just begs me to wonder . Will  I  have to get new glasses again after I finish these ? Just thought I would give you a heads up on these . If you don,t want to go to this kind of detail , I recommend staying with the regular ones . Anyway ,I,ve started my punishment so I,ll let you know .      tankerbuilder
