What are they---can you describe?

I saw a picture of them in a magazine and I think they look really good.

If you go to the "EDUARD" web site you'll see them as a photo slide show.  Eduard says they are "PHOTO ETCH" items.  I'm hoping some one has had some experience using them in any capacityt.

Yes, the "rushes" as pictured on the Eduard web site look real good.  However, looking good in a picture doesn't tell the whole story.  I'd like some input from someone with first hand experience.  At $22.00 a pop, I'm not ready to commit without further info.  Maybe FINE SCALE MODELER will look into this request for all of us.

Afraid I've not used the rushes but have used Eduard PE ferns, maple branches and some of their other plants. Airbrush them before you cut them off, plant them, and then touch up the unpainted spots. Expensive but they really look good. Sometimes Squadron puts the Eduard plants on sale, you might be able to find a better price at some other dealer as well.

Eduard also have a new line with bugs and fish....they are $$$. They look ok in the package but no I have not used them....yet.

I haven't but there is another product made of pre-cut and colored "paper" that reproduces foilage---I have their set for sunflowers that is totally awesome---cannot recall name at this moment but will check when I return to the front...

I believe you're thinking of 'Wako' brand paper plants from Japan Herr Field Marshal. I don't think they have a website or at least every websearch I did for 'Wako paper plants' came back with a list of paper factories in Waco, Texas... So I'll post Hobby Link Japans website here, not that I'm pushing them or anything:

I looked at the butterflies from Eduard and they look really cool but frankly I'm not paying twenty bucks for a sheet of PE bugs. Now if they put out a small fret for about five bucks I'll give it a whirl.

Many thanks for the info, you're right about the cost of this photo etch items.  I'll wait until one of these model mags does a infomercial describing assembly eyc.
