OBVIOUS OMISSIONS
Posted by tankerbuilder on Saturday, February 25, 2012 7:51 AM

As you all know I have been building mostly ship models for years .This leads to this post .In ships there are pieces of deck gear that get omitted or molded badly by the manufacturers. If they can mold a bench on a 1/700 ships deck , then why cant they do the same for anchor handling gear which is a very prominent part of visible hardware? In 1/35o they have finally started , hopefully a representation of ships from the dreadnought era. These are big enough they could mold those parts seperately and make everyone who does ships happier.Iknow,I know, quitcherbitchin .At least you got a nice model aintcha? I would imagine there,s omissions in every phase of modeling but ,this still kinda upsets me.They either don,t do their homework on a kit ,say a tank , car , plane or ship.It is NOT confined to ships. My question is ,at todays prices , WHY? The problem is one of , I believe ," I don,t care they got the model they wanted didn,t they , so what if it isn,t accurate? ". That kind of corporate thinking has me*&(^*% at the least and puzzled at the most.. The way I see it.If you are going to ask a good amount of money for your product , get it right. After all like the armor kit of the DICKER-MAX or the ship kit of the H.M.S. WARSPITE. They sell for well over almost a days pay. Well then give us a product that,s worth it ! I think that I would rather have the right MUZZLE-BRAKE on the DICKER MAX or seperately molded anchor handling winches on the H.M.S. WARSPITE than ,say a wooden deck for the ship ,or ,P.E. In the case od the ARMOR , then give us accurate tracks and pioneer gear, seperate from the hull or body. There , I,ve said it.       TANKERbuilder
