I've noticed that Great Models in stock inventory has been dwindling the past year, except for new kits. The only bad news I see is less competition in prices between the large online sources??
Yes it is true.

I REALLY hope Spruebrothers WILL USE Great Model's search tool. Nobody does better than Great Model IMHO. Love the 'Related Items' if I need to buy aftermarket sets...

Weird, because I've noticed some persistent shortages on Sprue Brothers as well (in particular, anything Ultracast).
I've increasingly been resorting to ordering direct from aftermarket players.

Also, when will this happen? I.E. Great Models website shutdown?
Wow, I just ordered from Great Models Friday to use up a $50 credit I won at Christmas time. Talk about good timing.

Yea,I worry about prices,Except for the big sales,Greatmodels prices were consistently lower.
There goes the neighborhood...
AWW NO! Say this isn't so. I have absolutely nothing against Sprue Bros. it's just that it sounds as though Great Model's inventory will be tranferred to the Sprue Bros. warehouse thus possibly closing the Great Models warehouse in Sandy, Ut. This is only a 3 1/2 hr drive for me and I manage the trip about 3 times a year and would spend easily a half of a day perusing their warehouse and picking up all sorts of goodies. In addition I can just email Great Models with my order and they will simply package it up and have it ready for my brother to pick up on his way home from work. If this is indeed the case I will sorely miss this excellent source for my modeling needs as well as their marvelous staff.

I hope the fusion results in a better on line buying experience.
The main reason I shop at Mega Hobby instead of other places is that their on line catalog is easy to browse and has pictures to see while I decide what to buy.
Wow! I too don't like to see competition dwindle, because that drives up prices.
So it's Spruebrothers and maybe Dragononline for me.

Funny - that's exactly what I wrote on Spruebro's Facebook page. Totally with you on this one.

Not good for me.
Had much better service from Great Models.
Very poor service from Sprue Brothers.
I had never used Great Models but have had only GREAT service from SpruBro.
Science is the pursiut of knowledge, faith is the pursuit of wisdom. Peace be with you.

LOL! Dupes, I wrote the same thing on their Facebook earlier today. Hope they are getting our messages...
I wonder if this was part of the Great Models 2012 upgrade?

Well, since coming back to the hobby last year, I've only bought from two online stores: Sprue Brothers and Great Models (usually which ever one is cheaper and in stock). So, I do worry about the competitive aspect of this merger. Will we see higher prices as a result?

40% off everything at Great Models until they move their inventory to Missouri in 30 to 60 days.

Not quite everything...but a whole lot! Snagged myself a bit of paint, a bit of PE, some 10mm Tamiya tape refills and...oh yes...RoG's 1/144 Fletcher-class destroyer. Been on my wish list for some time, but it's always been well over $100. For $75ish? Leap!
New arrivals are only 20% off, and I seem to remember seeing last night that several of the big Trumpy kits were nowhere near 40% off. They also seem to have avoided the Squadron trap by just not having a lot of the super-obvious 40% targets in stock (1/32 Tamiya P-51, Hasegawa and Trumpy P-47s, etc). Or maybe they've already been picked clean...
Thanks for the heads up !!
Just grabbed Trumpy E-10 and DML M4a3 Smart kit
Just placed an order, as well.
I notice their 1-800 line is disconnected.
Sad moment, I was their customer for like 12 years now - like an eternity these days. Anyhow, have a nice day
