North Vietnam mainly flew the MiG-17F and a few Mig-17PF. The PF is an easier conversion as it also had the radar nose, but still retained the cannon (3 x 23mm) instead of having the missiles of the PFU. The PF did not have the 37mm gun of the F. Which kit do you have?

Gonna require some surgery on the nose that might get pretty involved...Hobbyboss makes a really nice "Fresco" version w/ N Vietnam markings and a full engine...

Manny The Mig-17 PFU has the full engine as well as the parts to make a Mig-17PF.

PWright, try the "aircraft" forum instead of "general modelling". That is the place for aircraft questions.
