I agree, this is a good change.  We use this at our own forums at work and we've received very positive feedback.  Plus... behind the scenes this new update is easier to maintain.  WIN WIN

Part of me likes it better than the old, but I have to say, I do miss "full feed" from the front page.

I was thinking the same but you can click the "View Recent Post" button near the top on the left hand side. I think it's the same thing. Wink

Hmmmmmm...so you can't quote people in the new format...And every thread plops you on the first page??? I really don't like those two things at all about this new format, especially the fact that every thread starts on the first page.  I'm sorry but that just doesn't make sense...Start the threads on the LAST page...

Some of the new feature seem good. I'm still not keen on the over all look of it. I know in part its to make accessing the site when mobile easier. That won't ever effect me personally, but i am sure it will be useful for those that do.

But as this is a great site with some great people, its worth takeing the time to get used to.

I do like this quick reply feature.

Not feeling it so far. Stinks a bit on mobile as you can't scroll pages like you used too, you can only load more replies.

The mobile site truly is very non-user friendly.  starting the threads with the first post (from years back) is a nightmare on the mobile site, as is on the full size one.

Select the rich formatting text and the message you are replying to is above your message box. The Quote tab is under that.

I always say - If it ain't broke, don't fix it! And if you want to fix it - don't throw it away and buy a new one! But that's not the way it works here. One thing, that pissed me off badly, is the "your discussions" functionality - now it only shows the threads I STARTED - previously it also showed the threads I replied to - how do I look at them now? Am I supposed to keep notes? I've seen these forums getting slow recently - I predict the traffic will go down even further now. Thanks in advance for any tips on the "your discussions", have a nice day

Pawel, i find the ''Your Discussions'' function works just has it used to. It still shows me all the threads i have posted in.

I still don't like the look. Its to in my face, and it does seem more of a pain to navigate the site.

I tinkered a little bit and found out there are two "your discusions" - one of them is in the "Recent Discussions" card - it only shows you the threads you started (Home->Discussion Forums). The other one shows you all threads you participated in (Home -> Your Discussions). If this is not confusing! Well I'm definitely a fan of new things just because they are new things. Have a nice day

Same as Tigerman the only problem I've had was scrolling on mobile. Kinda sucks loading more replies on long threads.

You can open the threads to the last page. There's a line that says "Last post by . . ." If you click on the "Last post," it's a link to the (wait for it) last post in a thread.

That's the problem...why would you want it to?  If you are in a GB thread that is dozens of pages long and you have been keeping up w/ it then why would you want it to open on the first page that might be months old?  The thread should open on the LAST page.  I know that's a difficult concept for some to grasp, but think about it...

As I've stated in another thread:

This is the way I see it using an old analogy...the first format change took us from a 50,000 foot level of looking at the site to about a 30,000 foot overview...most people used that analogy back then.  In the "old" formats you had a sense that you had a good "overview" of the Forum and then could drill down to what you wanted...

Well now, I feel like I am no longer overlooking the Forum at all and seeing the big picture.  Now I feel like I'm at ZERO feet (on the ground) and I'm lost in a maze of weeds...
