Film fixing
Posted by Stonecold on Monday, July 2, 2012 10:16 AM

Hi Guys

I'm new to modelling and have started by building a Trumpeter 1/35 CH 47 Chinook.

Starting with the cockpit, the instructions say to fix a black film to the clear plastic centre console.

It does not go into any detail how to do this.

Can anyone suggest what is the best way to fix this film?

Thanks

Stonecold,

Welcome to modeling and the FSM Forum.

My suggestion would be to use a clear part cement, such as Micro Kristal Klear, or white glue (Elmers). Apply it sparingly to the joining surfaces. It will dry clear and shouldn't adversely affect the clear part or the film.

Hope that helps.

Cheers, Aaron

Future would work too.

Welcome to the Forum!

That's a hard model to build btw. Take your time and if you get impatient with progress, might be a good time to start some figures to go with it.

Also, you can never own enough books in my opinion. They can be cheap, or expensive, but are really helpful.
