1/35 Dragon 6600 Tiger I initial production track
Posted by fomocomav on Sunday, July 8, 2012 1:03 AM

I was wondering if anyone had built this kit and had a spare DS track that they were not going to use?  I have nothing to trade, but I can pay for the part and postage.  I don't want to buy a whole new kit just for the one track.  It doesn't matter which track.

Thanks!

I have a couple of Tamiya early Tigers, i think they both have rubber banb tracks. If so, you can have a set of those. I will have to check tonight to be 100% certain.

Bish, I need the Dragon Initial Tiger Track.  I have a spare set of Tamiya from their early, but they look too different.  I just really like the Dragon set, because of the open guide horns.  I appreciate the offer though!

Right, got you. The real things used the same track, but i know what you mean about the better detailed Dragon ones. Unfortunatly i have the other Dragon kit of the Initial Tiger andluckily for me, that comes with magic tracks. The only Tiger DS tracks i have are for late models so ain't the same.

Bish, I have the other Initial as well, but I'm keeping it as a collectible.  I think.  If not for collecting, then I WILL build it, so I don't want to scavenge from it either way.  I'm relatively new to 1/35 military modelling, so I have nothing for a stash, and I pretty much only want to build Dragon kits now, as I've gotten really poor Trumpeter kits, and the Italeri subjects I would build are mostly old releases, with the typical ejector pin mark rash all over the kit.  I can only fill so many!

If you don't mind forking out a bit of money, there are AM tracks. My personal favorites are metal Fruils, but they are pricey. There are also Mk tracks, and there may be others.

I have the feeling that anyone who has the Tiger kit you have will have used the DS tracks.

I believe the extra magic tracks I have are for the Dragon command version of the tiger mid production. Not sure though as they were included in a box of spare tiger parts I scored on E-Bay.Can you supply a pic?

I don't mind forking out cash, I was just hoping that someone had a spare set of the DS tracks, since the kit 6600 comes with 3.  I have the Academy set of single link tracks, but they need way too much cleanup, as would the AFVClub tracks.  I know people that have been building for awhile will have a much better spares box than I do, so I was hoping one of them had the DS tracks and wouldn't need them!  If I don't find a set of tracks I can use (Does Dragon make a set of Magic Tracks that would work?), I will go with the Fruil tracks.  I have worked with those before, and they are pretty nice!  I have a set of MK tracks for a Panzer I, but I haven't worked with those yet.  They look pretty nice, tho.
