Posted by tcepilot on Friday, July 20, 2012 4:36 PM

Does anyone know of a kit or decal set of Robin Olds F-4C 1/48 I think it's SCAT XVII? Also i clean my airbrush regulerly but it keeps spitting the psint out as a splatter/sandpaper finish ( single action)

Superscale did do a sheet years ago that had his and SteveRitchies F-4s. It is long OOP. Ithink there may be another maker out there who does a sheet with Scat, but I dont immediately recall who. Right now there does seem to be a bit of a famine on Vietnam Phantom decal sheets.

U is for URANIUM... BOMBS!

N is for NO SURVIVORS...

If 1/72 can fill the void, then Accurate Miniatures F-4C/D phantom kit has Old's markings in it. Really good decal sheet.

I've always wondered where Scat 3-26 were? I built Scat 2.

Splatter in my experience is usually caused by too high a pressure. The only way to solve this is to set aside an afternoon, get a bunch of test subjects like rent signs, a bunch of paper cups to mix paint/ thinner, and just go thru all the combos until you find what works for you. Paint by paint.

Seriously, there are no certain answers. Too many variables.
