What's a "Weekend"?
Something much of the civilized world, besides us, enjoys.
The guy who ran all the other Weekend Madness GBs has not been active here for awhile. I don't know if he left after the O&E brouhaha, the last format change, or some other reason...
I always wanted to jump in on one but the deadline was a little harsh lol. For me just getting a single wheel done in 48hrs is like I ACCOMPLISHED SOMETHING!!

Hans von Hammer What's a "Weekend"?
I think of it as the "Iron Chef" of GB's, without the competitive element.
48 hours from cutting the first part from the sprue to the last shot of dullcote. Any subject you like ( within FSM's family-friendly guidelines ) in any scale you dare attempt for the time allowed.
Okay, so is anyone else interested in trying to keep the tradition going? The usual time was the end of November.
Maybe...
I might not be able to end of november is when my bench is tentatively scheduled to be in the back og a U-Haul. Possibly i could do a 1/35 figure or 1/144 plane we'll see.

Well, another part of the tradition was a few weeks' leeway, one or two weeks before or after the declared weekend was okay, as long as the build was done in the 48 hour timeframe from start to finish. The late November thing kind of made that necessary because of the Thanksgiving factor, some folks having more plans than others because of family etc.
I remember some folks who didn't have weekends free even did the build on the weekdays they had off.
I wouldn't mind starting things up, but there is one thing I'd need help with. I'm barely computer-literate enough to get pics to show up right, so I'd need someone to help get the badge set up.
Usually this thing was run mid-month around Veteran's Day weekend.
If there's leeway I'll do it. If my paperwork gets done correctly, I'll be giving my building my 30 day on Nov 1st because my new rental will open Dec 1st. Then I need to set up utilities, internet, new bench, etc.. so 2nd week of Dec maybe stretching in to Jan or is that too much leeway?

I don't see why that would be a problem, given that the reason I waited so long to bring the GB up was because I hadn't realized the guy who originally started the idea had vanished and that makes this a bit last-minute. If I remember correctly, we've had participants need to wait til December before, and I could see January as being understandable this time around. As long as the start-to-finish is in 48 hours, it fits the idea.
I'll go ahead and get things started in the GB section sometime in the next day or 2. Hopefully we'll get a few more people interested.
Hey Kugai, I was just wondering about the Weekend Madness GB myself, posted a question in the GB Forum and was directed here by corvettemike! I'm definitely interested, whatever the date is, although I was hoping for the weekend before TDay like before. S'OK, count me in!

I'd been thinking on the same lines as Bufflehead. I'll have a crack if it's on.

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.
I would agree on the end of December/Begin January,It's the holiday season and the End of November is a bit hectic, beeing my birthday, exams, lots of big designs/assignments to finish.
Got things started in the GB section, so feel free to sign up there.
As has been done in the past, we're leaving some leeway ( more of it than usual because of the late start ), so as long as your project's "declared" this month and you get it done in the 48 hours after starting, it's all good even if individual schedules prevent someone from getting started on the "main" weekend.
Heck, I may even have something set aside to do more than 1 project in 48 hours to minimize the odds of some of the later participants aren't the only ones doing the build on their "weekends."
