I am not a modeler myself. My husband was. He passed away 8/09. He has a extensive collection of museum quality model airplanes on display in our home in display cabinets. Unfortunately, I need to down size my living space. I would like to keep the models for my 2 son's ( in their 20's) but, cannot think of any way to store them. They are sooo fragile. I also have about 50 or so kits that he never got to. How can I find out if any are valuable? Any information would be of help.

Sorry for your loss. I suggest going on ebay and see what the model kits are going for. This will give you an idea where to start. You can post on Armorama.com and sell for free. ebay will sell but their fees are quite high. As for storing them, I have packed them in large baggies or plastic bags suspended on foam peanuts. I have moved 3 times in the past 6 years and none of my models were damaged, mostly cuz I packed and moved them myself. Hope this helps.

Please accept my condolences.  There are a number of IPMS chapters in Texas (http://www.ipmsusa.org/ChapterDirectory/state_select.asp?ST=TX).  If there is one relatively close by to you, someone there might be able to help you figure out the best way to dispose of the kits and how to store the models.
