I will be partaking in both. It's not like it is polygamy to be on several forums.

LOL  well put. I have checked out other forums in the past but never liked the look of them. I checked out the one people are talking about and that looked good, so i joined. But i have no plans to leave here. Theres no harm in spreading your wings, talking to people you might have missed. And also keeping up with the small number who have left here for their own reasons.

I'd hate to see you leave Bish, I think you're a standup guy and you have a vast knowledge of armor. I do hope you stay aboard.

I am sure i will Eric, i certainly have no plans to go. And whatever else goes on here, its the guys like yourself that always give it the edge over the politics and other rubbish. There are far to many good people here to just walk away.

I've been on the other board and here kind of sporadically. Funny once my workbench got packed and I can't actively build until mid Dec at the earliest model boards kind of became

Been posting here sporadically the past few months. Face it, aside from a few past GB's, there just isn't a whole lot of interest here in the WWI stuff, but they're goin' nuts with 'em over at Large-scale Planes, especially the WnW kits, and I've learned tons checking out and asking questions about their builds.

Well, I'm here for the foreseeable future. I followed the big stink last weekend but didn't post since to be honest I'm just bored with all the drama. I haven't checked any of the other forums yet since I've had bad luck with some I've been on years ago and generally found this to be one of the best I've seen for constructive criticism instead of oneupsmanship and people with more interest in grinding their axes than actually building anything.

I've so far been rather pleasantly stunned with the interest in a Japanese Group Build II so I'll be around for no other reason than running that.  I may not be as much around these forums though.

To be honest, i just looked at the other forum where many of ours seem to have flown to and while it looks quite nice and organized, I don't see myself moving over there any time soon.   I picked this place and I guess that I'll stay...   but they allow private sales over there and that might entice me enough to join.

haha, mfsob

the models that caused me to sell off almost all of my 1/700 ships were one in person and one online

the guys that started posting a complete harbor for displaying a lot of their ship kits at once,,,,,,,,all done in custom PE for each thing they needed, whether it was a custom crane, a shipyard train, or dozens of trucks was one strike

then at the Nats, seeing the McHale's navy lagoon diorama kit, that was strike 2

both of those strikes came just as I was trying to assemble those PE 23mm? Japanese AA guns for some models,,,,,I was down to only 2 tries for each finished gun,,,,I figured buying twice as much PE as I needed was not going to continue (if you try, and they don't work, you have to start with a fresh gun)

all I kept are some small Russian ships, about 2 and 3 times the length of your picture (Osa and Tarantul), and some Skywave US Amphibs,,,,,,,,,Shermans are about 3/8 inch long in 1/700, lol

but, it did trim the stash down, and now my shop is almost all one scale, 1/72, again

at shows,,,,,,,,I go to the ships first, and just stand at each one and stare,,,,,,,then I go to the aircraft section to spend more time and interact with the other builders

almost gone

They make photo etch people in 1/700? Oh god why? Torture? Lol

Yeah, you can get Brits, Yanks, and Japanese- like you can really tell the difference at 1/700!!!

that segment of the "state of the art" is changing too,,,,,,,there are now injected crew members for 1/350 ship kits,,,,,,,so the old Bend the arms and legs, fill with white glue for depth, then paint the figures routine is not strictly necessary in that scale anymore

PE people is still the way for 1/700 though,,,,,but, I quit ships,,,,,,,really, I quit those,,,,,well, I quit 1/700 anyway,,,,,,,,I am eying up some of the larger scales,,,,,,like those Gators that match up pretty close to Micro Armour scale,,,,,,,those are tempting

aircraft carrier PE sets have included the bikes used onboard to get around the Hangar Bay and Flight Deck

pretty cool deal, bicycles in 1/350 scale
