I have the Tu-142, a later version of the Bear in 1/72, and yes, the B-36 is larger, but not by much. I also have the Tu-160 Blackjack, (as mentioned) and is is at least as large, if not larger, than the B-36. So far, I haven't started either one of those. I really should; those boxes are huge. To date, the largest plane I've finished is the An-12 Cub, but my DC-6 is getting close and that is slightly bigger than the Cub.
The largest would have to be the 1/9 scale Esci BMW R75. the most expensive would be a special edition Fujimi 1/76th JadgTiger it featured P/E engine screens and white metal spare tracks cost was $20 def. not worth the additional expense.

My largest model aircraft completed is my 1/72 scale B-*36 Peacemaker that's hanging on my ceiling, followed by my two completed B-52's. My largest unbuilt aircraft is my Trumpeter 1/72 scale Tu-160 Blackjack bomber.
May largest armor model is currently 96% assembled: My Hobby Boss 1/72 scale Dora railgun. I'd say that was my most expensive model as well.
Finally, in ships, I have the 1/350 scale Tamiya USS Enterprise that was given to me by a friend.
I also have a 1/12th scale 1911 Christie firetruck completed. That would be my largest automotive subject.

In 2007, I bought Hasagawa 1:72 - Mitsubishi G4M2E Type 1 Attack Bomber (Betty) -Japanese Bomber- with Ohka from Japan, $80.. BUT I never building to complete it.. . I just left it in my cave.. I will do someday..

Most expensive? Heck, if I pay more than $30 for one, it's too much! I would have to say my 1/96 Saturn V (Revell's History Maker version). It was $100 back in 1980 something when I bought it for myself for my birthday.
Biggest? 1/72 Shuttle with ET and boosters.

My largest is probably a scratch built 1/25th scale Lombard log hauler pulling a pair of logging sleighs. its overall length is slightly more than 48". Other large kits would be the RoG Simba crash truck, RoG Neoplan Cityliner bus also the most expensive (about $150) and the AMT payhauler. All are 1/25th scale.

My biggest and most valuable kit is a 1/8 scale Pocher Mercedes 500K molded in redfrom around 1980. It was passed on to me when my friend Roger passed away several years ago. It is very rare because Pocher was not allowed to produce a red body version and was forced to stop the kit. I believe it is worth about $1,000.

My most expensive is the 1:400 Karel Doorman Dutch aircraft carrier. But when I take my biggest model and the after market stuff, the Tamiya 1:350 Yamato defnetly wins. The model was € 75, Eduard etching €50, Gun barrels was 3x €10 and zome small stuff also a total of about €50. So €210,- what is about $280,-
The Yamato is halfway his build, the Karel Doorman will be the next ...

For me the biggest and most expensive is Dragons 1/6 jeep. Fathers day present 2 years ago.

I have two Revell 1/72 scale U- Boats and a bunch of photo etch to go with them. So they are both the most expensive and the biggest. On the other hand I have a 1966 issue of Revells Pine Island seaplane tender thats worth $145.00 But I started it in 1995 and I messed it up so as soon as I fix it it will be worth $1.98!

My biggest is probably Revell's F-15 D/E in 1/32. I haven't built it yet. I picked it up for about $8.00 at a local craft store. They used to have a few shelves for models but decided to get rid of them so they had a clearing out sale. With the large size I would really like to detail it but first I need to get a few planes kits under my belt before I start.
The biggest would have to be the Italeri 1/24 Mann cabover with reefer trailer. As for most expensive it would be a tie between the DML 1/48 JU88G Nachtjager and the Pro-Mod Me310 both due to the amount of a/m resin and p/e goodies I've rounded up for them.I was pretty embarrassed thinking what I've spent on just 2 kits until I saw how much a resin Ju388 went for on evil bay recently,do'nt feel half bad about it now! B-36, cv-65, or the mighty mo. Started the b-26 years ago, then realized i had nowhere to put it. Afraid of the two boats.

Currently the biggest kits in my stash are a couple of 1/24th FW 190s (one's an Airfix and the other is a Heller) and the Monogram B-36 kit box is the same size as the 190 boxes! The most expensive kit is the WNW AMC DH-2 my wife gave me for Christmas. (I do have some other kits that the MSRP is higher but I didn't pay the for them. eg. I payed 30 bucks for an unopened Revell of Germany 1/72 U-Boat)
For me I have bought both the Accurate Armor 1/35th U-boat VC-IIC and the quayside set for just over a grand. Calling it my retirement project and with the sub alone measuring out to 6ft in length finding a spot for it presents a problem.
2nd runner up and something a little more manageable is the Trumpeter 1/200 Arizona w/ the KA Models Arizona deluxe pack.
On the bench: So many hanger queens.

Biggest is a 1/48 Monogram B-29.. Most expensive is a 1/35th Tamiya Stug III.. 45.00 freakin' DOLLARS... Luckily, I had a trusty printed-out Hobby Lobby "40% off" coupon or it'd still be in the store....

When I was a kid, my parents got me a 1/32 B-1 bomber for Christmas. The box was almost as big as I was. I never started it, mainly because I had no clue as to where I'd put it if I ever finished it. When I left for school my parents divorced and a lot of my stuff disappeared, including all of my models. Now the biggest model in my stash is probably a 1/72 Tu-22M Backfire (I only do 1/72 aircraft now). None of my kits were particularly expensive when I got them, that I can recall.
my largest AND most expensive is a 1/8 scale Ford Falcon XY (1971). it came as a pre-painted diecast kit and has a fully detailed cleveland 351 v8.
that's a 1/25 scale on top of it.
