One thing that contributes to good airbrush finishes is to consider the airbrush as a kind of brush, not the same as a spraygun.  An airbrush is not a tool to keep far from a surface and cover a large area quickly.  The spray gun is more of a device to get the same kind of coverage you get with a brush, but without making brush marks.

BTW, there is a whole forum for airbrushing and painting threads and brands, models of airbrushes, as well as useful tips, are a very frequent thread there.

Hi Simon,

I'm not familiar with the mini elephant compressor kit but I have and use an AB with an 0.2 mm nozzle/needle (H&S Evolution Silverline) and it works fine for 1/32. I recently built a 1/32 Dauntless for a friend and used only the 0.2 mm AB. Worked fine.  I know there are others here who also use 0.2 mm AB's so maybe they'll comment. And, yes, you can also use it for detailing.

I've just got one of these kits as my first Airbrush kit, its 0.2mm and dual action. Just wondering if this is good enough for painting my 1/32 Eurofighter? Or is this more for fine detail work?

Any comment welcome on this topic.

Cheers
