Buying just ONE issue of FSM
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, February 14, 2004 2:23 AM
Gang,

I'm interested in buying the issue of FSM or GSM that has my Raptor in it as seen here:

http://www.finescale.com/fsm/default.aspx?c=a&id=1319

If any of you have the issue that has my dino in it, would you let me know which one it is so I can see about buying a few copies of it?

Thanks!

Wes

Wes, very nice looking dino! Haven't seen it in the mags yet, at least that I remember. Don't hold your breath though, as one of the threads going right now puts it, you may or may not get in. Lots of photos taken, not as many published. Besides, even if you do make it in, you won't know until it happens many months from now. I waited 8 months to see mine. BTW, welcome to the forum! Smile [:)]

Great to see something not "main stream". Hopefully FSM caries more coverage of your genre in future Wes.

Accordng to what I understand, the dec 2003 issue had it, but I didn't see it. I was told at the show that it might be a year or so before it's published. I'd like to buy a few copies of that issue if the Raptor is in it.

Great job, Wes! Better check that raptor's blood pressure-his carotid's gonna blow! Hope we see more prehistorics here!

The photos from the IPMS Region 2 show at Reston, Va., last fall haven't appeared in print yet, just on the web. But the OnlineEXTRA gallery for the show is attached to the December issue on the website.

I'm not sure when the photos will run; they may be part of GSM 2005. That's often a problem with show photos: depending on our schedule, it may be a year before they appear in print, which isn't much fun for the modelers who are waiting to see their models in FSM/GSM. We're trying to make show coverage a two-part process, on the web right after the show, then later in print.

BTW, Wes, very impressive paint job on the Raptor--the base is a nice touch.

Wes, that looks great. You did a really great job on a subject with no up to date reference pics in existance... as for the pictures not being published for a while sorry to hear that. Keep on this forum though as there are a lot of us that can learn some of those great paint tecniques from you.

You guys flatter me. Thanks for the compliments. In all honesty, I don't think it was that good.
Still, thanks to all of you.

Please keep me posted when and if you see it in print!

That raptor looks very realistic - doesn't he look kinda cranky? Well done, mate.

Haven't seen it, but read the Editor's post, that's at least a little more insight into it.
Very nice job on the Raptor. Very ogirinal, at least for this forum Smile [:)]

Gang,

Any update on GSM 2005? I'm currently in Iraq so if it comes out any time within the next month I'm screwed. I wonder if FSM carries back issues in case I missed it?

Wes.
FSM DOES have back issues that you can order.
I beleive they are taking pre-orders for GSM 2005 right now. I may be wrong but, I think they are.
And, thanks for serving. I, as with many others on here, appreciate the sacrifices that you and all of the others who serve make for us. My son will be heading over there next year. He is in the ARANG and will be there for 120 day deployment.
By the way. Nice looking Raptor!! Thumbs Up [tup] Thumbs Up [tup]
