How does Futre take paint?

Best way is to dip canopy in Future before painting the frame.  Let the excess drip off, set it down in a dust-free area  on a piece of waxed paper to keep it from sticking, (maybe cover it with a box) and don't touch it for 24 hrs.

I dip all my canopies in Future, then paint frames as usual. I use MM Acryls and have never had a problem with paint peeling or flaking off. I do take care with the canopies after they're painted, however. I'm thinking that Future coat probably doesn't provide nearly as much "tooth" as a primer would, for paint to stick to.  I imagine the frames I've painted are probably pretty delicate. YMMV.

Ditto on Cadet Chucks instructions. After that you can paint the canopy frames as Future is an acrylic coating. I have brushed Future with no problems on places where decals will be going to provide a smooth surface. After the decals have set, you can spray Dullcote over the decals if you're going back to a flat finish or Glosscote if you're going to gloss. You can also put the Future on those spots with an airbrush. Either way it helps the decals to settle. Hope that this answers your questions.

Don't Dullcote your canopy though!  You'll fog it!

Also, if you using Bare Metal Foil or some other masking agent, the Future helps protect against any left over adhesive residue - just take it off with GooGone or something like that.  The Future keeps the canopy nice and clear.

BTW, to remove future from a canopy (or anything else) - just soak overnight in Windex or other ammonia/water solution (but watch the fumes).

And if you ever get a 'buff' mark on the canopy and cant polish it away, try dipping into future as well.
