The issue is not a PDF Viewer, the app that was created is no longer compatible with the latest versions of MacOS

just discussing this on Scale Auto. the PDFs are protected, but can be read by any PDF reader that Kalmbach wants. All they need to do is release a 64bit PDF reader app and you could use it on your current O/S. I'd suggest they should also consider Android and IOS versions too.

The issue is not a PDF Viewer, the app that was created is no longer compatible with the latest versions of MacOS (Catalina, 10.15) as its not a 64 bit application.

It should be possible to release an update to the app to fix that, but it would need to be distributed somehow.

I dont know for sure but its probably related to a copying issue. In pdf format it wouldnt take much to share the entire thing with the rest of the world. I applaud Finescale Modeller for making their product available to us despite the risk of hackers copying it.

And the application will not run on Macs running the latest operating system, Catalina.

I am glad I checked before I spent $100.00, when there is a fix to the platform problem I will think about buying again.

I totally agree. It seems to me that when we subscribe to the magazine, then pay 100 bucks for the disc that it's not out of line to think we should have more options to view it.

Cheers,

I am thrilled to have received my version of the 25-year collection and many thanks to FSM for doing this, allowing the younger/newer subscribers to catch up on 25 years of experience, tips, tricks and modelling ideas.

One remark though : I much prefer reading PDF on a tablet. It's a lot easier than behind a desktop and I can continue reading on the bus, train, ... The only thing stopping me from transferring the files to iPad is the password-protection to read them. (I do understand the password is a necessary precaution of course)

While this won't be stopping me from reading all 200+ issues the coming months (years? :-)), any chance you would consider adding an app for iPad to read the PDF's?
