Build review 2012
Posted by Bish on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 10:36 AM

last year was slow going for completed builds, even by my standards. But i am hopeing i can pick up the pace this year.

But anyway, here they are, all 4 of them.

matchbox Chinook 1/72nd

And the same kit again for a friend in my unit after he saw my build.

Both of these were for the Falklands GB.

Next, Huma's 1/72nd Fw Triebflugel.

And finally, the CH 1/35th Panther w Pz IV turret. Another kit aded to the backlog of those wiating for diorama's.

Thanks to all the guys on here who helped out on these builds. Shows what a great site this is and what great people there are.

Heres to even more great times and great builds in 2013.

Quality is better than quantity.  The helicopters are particularly impressive.

Did the figures and scaffold come with the Triebflugel, or are they scratch built.  It's a neat diorama.

And here's to the New Year. Toast

Thanks CMK. The tower was scratchbuilt useing brass rod soldered together. It was my first ever attempt at soldering and i was pretty pleased with it. The figures are a mix of Revell and Airfix.

Don't feel bad, man. The only thing I got accomplished this year was finally getting my ex-fiance to leave me alone.

Joe

It's not about how fast you get there or even where you're going. It's whether you enjoy the ride.

hey bish

happy new year. as you can see i got a lot done but some were shelf queens. starting the big trumpeter CHINESE TREASURE SHIP for nationals, back on 1/35 VOSPER and i think i have an "easy" way to do leopard spots on 1/35 SEEHUND. plus a whole new batch of shelf queens.

Pleasure to watch the Panther unfold. I do like that crazy Fw Triebflugel. what a weird contraption.

I'm not too familiar with armor, so I had to do a double-take at your Panther. It's really nice.

It's a Panther with a Pz IV turret, so I can see the double-take.

Its a field modification with a Pz IV G (i think) turret welded onto a very early Panther hull. It does have that 'what the hell is that' feel to it. Thanks for the comments.
