It is like comparing Yugo to Toyota. No comparison.

There was a long thread on the Badger TC910 last year.

The Badger TC910 is typical made-in-China compressor. It runs a little bit hot and reasonably noisy. You can find more detail about it at Don Wheeler's website. You can probably buy a similar one for $120-130 elsewhere. Actually, I got a brand new one for $40 plus shipping (Yes, $40, no typo) from Northern Tools in 2011.

The Sparmax TC-2000 is a very well made unit from Taiwan. It runs cool and quiet. Most importantly, it has a well established reliability record. It is well worth spending the extra for it if you are in modeling for the long haul.

There is a forum specifically for "painting and airbrushing".  Questions like this are discussed a lot in that forum, so you may find more answers if you ask in that forum.

I am curious on what people think about these two compressors. I know it's ideal to have a reservoir but I have heard bad reviews on the tc910 (not to mention its not actually made by badger). At the $200 price point which one is better? Here is the basic breakdown of the two:

tc910:
1/5 hp
3 liter tank
single piston
metal box encasing

tc2000:
1/6 hp
regulator/water trap that is not attached to the base unit so you can change the psi without going to the compressor
two piston

what do you guys think?
