I´m almost finished with my Lindberg 1/48 JU-87 Stuka model kit. While researchig about the real aircraft, I found pictures that show and antenna-like extension coming out from the bottom of the aircraft:

The Lindberg model does not include this part, but I´m pretty sure that it can be made from streched sprue.
I´m very curious about the function of this antenna-like extension. Does anybody out there knows what is the name of this device and what was is used for in the real aircraft?
Many thanks in advanced for your assured responses.

I think you might be talking about the trailing antenna it can be reeled in and out when needed that shaft is like the housing for it. Do a google search to find out more about how they work

That's where they hold it when they're painting it.

Its definately not the dive brakes. Does look like an antenna of some sort. My Kagero book shows nothing of it, although the book is for the Ds-Gs.

Hello fellow modelers!
I´ve just discovered the name of the part: FuG 25 Anténa, which turns out to be a blade-shaped antenna under the fuselage.
The mystery was finally resolved by "discovering" the instuctions of a 1/72 Ju-87 R-2 Stuka model kit manufactured by a company named BILEK: http://www.model-making.eu/products/item_name-1092675.html#
Many thanks for your interest on this matter.
Regards, and happy modelling.
