Hi OCTANEORANGE,
No offense taken.
That 9.9% fee hike if true is significant.
Your right the Internet premium is high and I acknowledged this earlier. . Look at it this way , put into context what a kit sold for . I went back to the site and looked at the ending auctions. The list is still temporarily available . Here are some examples compared to ebay.: Tamiya German 8 ton Semitrack Sd.kfz 7/1 20mm Flakvierling final sale price $8.50 current lowest price on ebay that I could find $20 plus $15 shipping . Tamiya 1/35 Char Bis 1 German Army, final sale price $23 lowest I could find on ebay $38.50 plus $11.21 shipping. Tamiya 1/35 4x2 cargo truck final sale price $11, on ebay it appears there's nothing under $37 with shipping included. several are currently under bid , I doubt they will come close to $11 seeing how shipping is $10 or more. a large majority of 1/35 Zvevda kits were $5.50, Trumpeter 1/35 SA guideline Missile on launcher sold for $8. On ebay , nothing for under $25 . Now include the %15 users fee and your still significantly ahead of the game. UPS is the shipping Currier. What UPS Quotes the auctioneer is what buyer pays so no artificially inflated shipping fees. Ebay still offers the opportunity for a great deal but they are far and too few.
RX7850 The format is online only which is the same format as Ebays. 15% internet premium plus shipping.

Just wondering if anyone had the opportunity to participate in the auction. I thought the deals were unbeatable in terms of sheer availability and price. It was somewhat of a fast paced auction so I was not able to record exact final prices however the lowest kit I found, an older Italarie 1/35 scale Katuysha rocket launcher sold for $3.25 the average mean for a kit was somewhere between $8 to $15 with a value 2 to 3 times that. easily. I almost bought the Tamiya 35282 1/35 French Battle Tank Char B1 bis Model Kit that sells for $50 to $100 on ebay . It sold for $23 that's a good deal even with the 15% internet premium.
If you did post up I would like to know what you thought. If not I'll stop taking up valuable bandwidth

I hope they become very successful as Ebay no serious competition.
I'm aware of Etsy but they dont carry much of what I'm looking for. When they do Ebay is still cheaper.
Ebay has attempted to cracked down on sellers (like from China) charging a few $$$ for something and making up the difference with high shipping by including shipping in the total cost of what Ebay gets. Good for Ebay, bad for sellers and buyers(as long as you know whats going on). I once paid like .99 cents for a chess set and $25 for shipping. I realized the shipping was a ripoff but I was just looking at the "total cost" to me. No way no where could I have bought that chess set for .99 cents.
Yes there are fees to participate and are stated prior to auction, self explanatory and straight forward. Terms of sale are stated prior to auction and are subject to conditions set by the auctioneer
Standard internet premium fee is 15% . This is the fee Proxibid is entitled to for online participation and is a percentage of the total auction amount. The second fee is for taxes applicable to state residents only . In my case no taxes were accessed as I was an out of state participant. Shipping fees were based on package size and weight accessed after conclusion of the auction. Shipping would be a direct quote from the USPS with no further garnishment . So what the USPS tells the auctioneer is what you pay. Forms of payment were credit card and Paypal .
So in the end I ended up purchasing 84 kits consisting of hard to find items to the still attainable but get ready to pay 2 to 5 times higher shipping on ebay . Shipping came to a very reasonable $34 or roughly 40.5 cents / kit.
Heck ebay sellers in some circumstances charge $10 to $15 just to ship a 1/72 scale armor kit that weights mere ounces state to state. I feel the 15% surcharge is a little high , live attendees are charged 10% . But in the end even with the fees my price per kit was NO WERE NEAR what I would pay on ebay.
Like any online purchase use caution and good judgment. It's probably a good idea to know what you are willing to pay prior to bidding so you can access the fees more accurately.
Hope some of you can score like I feel I did.
Unless I read it wrong looks like there are extra charges that apply like "Internet Premium". What is that about? Tax added. Shipping service used (that you pay for) if you dont want to pick it up.
Too many unknowns for me.
Just finished participating in a live online model auction that I thought would never be over. Started approx. at 6:10 pm. and ended at 11:05 pm. The lot of 484 kits consisted mainly of 1/72 , 1/76 armor with a few 1/35 armor and various plane kits from the early 70s to late 90s. I got some really good and rare deals that were a lot cheaper than ebay. So I added considerably to my stash and credit card The site is called
