I just retired from the VA Hospital here locally and if you contact the volunteer services at your local VA Center they will be glad to help you find homes for those old models. The VA here that I worked at had a large veteran population and these guys were glad to have something to do of an evening. And as a bonus for you it might even be a tax break for you if you want it.

Even if pieces are missing?

not sure how many organizations will take ones with parts missing.

Maybe post something at a local hobby shop, if they run clinics they may even buy them.  Use them for painting or gap filling tutorials.

Or keep em and do the same.

That would be a good idea, On his website it says 1/35 though...

Sorry, you never mentioned scale or type of kits (i.e. aircraft, armor, cars).

For old completed models, as a kid, I would light off a firecracker inside.  For flying model balsa/tissue planes, we would light the tails on fire and sail them out of the attic window!  Great fun!

Gimme a pigfoot, and a bottle of beer...

Jay "Todtjager" Barbarisch runs a site he calls the "Arsenal". It is a parts depot for modelers who are missing pieces or require something for a scratchbuild project. All he asks for in return for the parts is the price of postage or some parts donated and sent his way. He's in Michigan, USA.

There was someone on ere looking for kits for working with kids a little while ago.

Local scout group?

Or hospitals may take them, especially Vet ones.

Or there are many willing participants around here.....

I will take them!   But you may want to save them for parts or practice painting or weathering.  But if you really want them gone   I'm more than happy to pay for shipping.

Dont worry about the thumbprint, paint it Rust , and call it "Battle Damage"

No clubs that I know of, not very many hobby stores near me. I wouldnt have a problem getting rid of some of the tanks and planes i have, they are smaller cheaper ones, but I have a USS Arizona and a Bismark ship :/ and a B-29. I could probably keep the B-29, the ships are the hard part though.

Don't have that problem myself (yet).  I've heard some VA centers will take kits (even gently started ones) for various programs.  Do you have a club or hobby store close by?  They might have some ideas of what you could do with them.

Hey guys, I have a bunch of old models that I will never build, 99% of them have been started when i first got into modeling. I don't plan on revisiting them and I feel bad about throwing them away. None of them are complete, decals are probably bad from sitting in the basement. I'm trying to go through everything I have because I'm planning on moving out on my own this year. I have other models I'm keeping to try things on so I don't need them for that.

What do you guys/girls do?
