CROSSING OVER - - - AGAIN
Posted by tankerbuilder on Sunday, April 7, 2013 8:49 AM

HEY , YA'LL :

As you know I asked about a model I acquired at a TRAIN show .Now here's where the article comes in . I was looking around for any do-dads I could use for , or on ships .( You know ,Refinery parts for instance ) they make fine tanker deck accessories .

Now I was looking at some little buildings .There was an " N " scale building , that was obviously a signals or switch control tower  " .Hmmm  ", goes my feeble brain . Yup , it looked just like it would work , with MINOR mods as a bridge and deckhouse structure for an inland ship that is an oiler , container ship or one of the small ones with those ubiquitious domes ( LPG ) carrier .So I bought it . It's even rigged for interior lights !

Now , do you like turn of the century passenger vessels that plied the lakes and rivers of this great nation of ours .There are companies like KIBRI , FALLER and CORNERSTONE (a WALTHER product )  that put out everything from DEISEL engines , TRANSFORMERS , TANKS , REELS etc. that can work on regular models .The FALLER andd KIBRI rails and fences of certain types look right at home on aa ship .There are also railing sets that look at home anywhere.

I have used the REFINERY sets for everything including exhausts for a fording set on a tank , and it looked like it was built that way originally ! Don't ever say , " I can;t do that " . Crossing over solves many a headache  .TRY IT , YOU"LL LIKE IT !      Tanker - builder .
