Pledge Future
Posted by newtome on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 1:40 PM

Does anyone in the St. Louis area know where I can purchase Pledge Future?  I've tried all of the local supermarkets as well as Home Depot.

Target or Walmart often carry it.

Look for the label Pledge Floor Polish with Future Shine or something very similar.  The word Future is written underneath Pledge and is not very prominent.

I believe the word "Future" has been deleted from the current labelling.

It's now called "FloorCare Multi Surface Finish" and looks like this: http://www.pledge.com/en-US/Products/Pages/floor-care-multi-surface-finish.aspx

I spent a week looking for this stuff a couple months back. Finally found some at my trusty local Ace Hardware. Phil is correct about the new label (the one I found at Ace still had the Future logo on it, that made me feel better).

Makes sure you get the one with the boots (see Phil's link), not the one with the puppy. I don't believe the similar looking product (with the puppy) is the same old "Future".

Seems to me like S.C.Johnson is trying to quietly phase out this product, or at least the name "Future".

Gimme a pigfoot, and a bottle of beer...

I compared the UPC barcodes, and they're identical.  I agree, they may be trying to get rid of the Future label, which is extremely confusing for new people to the hobby, especially now that they're eliminating it from the bottle altogether.  It is still very much the same formula, and works just fine.  Just a new bottle.

Speaking of confusion, in my search I had actually purchased the correct one  from Walmart (as shown in Phil's link above), then, convinced it was wrong, returned it and went on a week long search until I found one with the 'old' packages with a small "Future" logo (as shown in Eric's post).

Could have saved a week, had the correct stuff to begin with as scapilot just said above. Bang Head

Hey Phil - Have you purchased any in Australia lately ? Would like to know where I can pick some up.  Still have half a bottle of the old Pledge One Go, but with supply problems, might not be a bad idea to stock up ?  I see one enterprising chap in Australia is selling bottles of Future for $40 !

I believe One Go has been discontinued here. I haven't seen any on the shelves for about 2 years or so now. Like you I still have half a bottle, but I only use it on clear parts, not for gloss coating.

I still see the Pascoes Long Life from time to time, and there are a couple of products which may bear checking out: Feast Watson Floorshine and Peerless Jal Gemini. Both are floor finishes available at Bunnings and both have a milky white appearance. Oddly enough, the Feast Watson product is in the paint section and the others are in the domestic cleaning section.
