I had nearly 20 years experience when FSM first came out,,,,,,I was mostly just inspired by the articles through the years that showcased a certain modeler and his collection,,,,,,and the Reader's Gallery made me happy to see the level of detail and finish that other people were achieving

before FSM, I was a long time reader of the old Airfix magazine and Scale Modeler,,,,both gave us articles, but we didn't see very much of the Reader's Models,,,,,mostly just the professionals doing the articles

FSM showed me just how many more of us that there were back then

Years ago, Paul Budzik wrote an article on converting the venerable old Monogram B-17G to an F. His work inspired me to try my hand at major "plastic surgery" and the experience changed the way I approached modelling. If I recall correctly, his article was responsible for my first vacuum forming experiments, working with acrylic plastics, and learning to scribe panel lines. Quite a few mistakes along the way with that build, but Paul's article gave plenty of inspiration to try and try again.

An article back in 2000 or so on building a Tiger I and doing everything, upgrading, weathering etc. Before then I build my models OOB with a factory finish. After that article I started upgrading weathering and what not.

Just curious as to what FSM article had the biggest impact in your modeling skills? There was an old article back in the day about making sandwich style instrument panels that really helped me out. What's yours?
