can anyone tell me how long it takes easy off oven cleaner to remove chrome from parts?
Depends on reason. If it is obscuring fine detail, then fine, look for way to remove it. However, if you just want to paint the part (or prime for Alclad) you do not need to remove it. You can prime it with a good metal primer and then paint. The "chrome" coating on model kits is actually aluminum.

In my experience, anywhere from about 30 seconds to 15-20 minutes. I usually check after 10 minutes, find most of it gone, then give another spray to the problem areas or deep recesses where it may have laid on a little thicker. Never really had anything beyond tiny spots last beyond that. Every once in a while you'll need to sand a particularly resistant bit off, but, hey, that's modeling.

There's two layers to the chrome, the actual shiny plating and beneath it is a lacquer coat. It will appear as a yellowish clear coat. That is the stuff that normally takes some time to dissolve. The shiny stuff can be gone in minutes, if not seconds.
I usually let it sit overnight or while at work during the day to get rid of the lacquer.
