I never had any problem getting replacement parts for kits still in production.   When I started going through some of the kits in my stash that had been put away for a long time and realized I had lost parts, they were great in replacing them.  I thought for a while that they would get tired of me asking for parts.

Revell is still one of my favorite companies. I've never had any problems with their customer service which I would have to say is above and beyond many if not most of the kit manufacturers. So what if we have to scratch a few details? Still great value for the price.

Most of my revell kits are second hand.  I have had revell send me replacement parts and decals a few times.  A couple times ive had no reply.  But all in all, im satified with them and will be a life long customer.

Pawel

- thanks a lot, Revell Germany! By the way, they make a lot of their kits in Poland! Thanks for reading, have a nice day

Paweł

Good to hear that, Pawel !
I found the main fuel tank for my 1/72 Shuttle was warped so Revell shipped a new set to me earlier this year.
.
As for kits made in Poland, I noticed the figures for my Revell Cutty Sark kit  as well as the replacement 1/72 shuttle main fuel tank were marked made in Poland. Big Smile

I was always very happy with the service from Revell Germany. Once my little bro lost an engine half of a Boeing 747 we were building - they sent it to me no charge. Like two years ago I needed some track return rollers for a 1:72 M60 and got them too. This time it took a lot of time (several weeks), so I called the company (I happen to speak German) and asked what's up. As it turns out, the wave of Christmas gifts swamps Revell every year, jaming the spare parts service for like three months - if you send a request during that time, you're going to wait. Other than that it's usually a matter of single weeks (in Europe). So I got to say it too - thanks a lot, Revell Germany! By the way, they make a lot of their kits in Poland! Thanks for reading, have a nice day

Happy to hear it.

If companies do scan the forums on a regular basis, might be good to add the name of the company being thanked in the Tag list

.

I would be very surprised if any other companies searched for feedback in a Revell thread.

I posted this in the Ship forum, but it fits with this thread also. Not a mfg, but a couple of mail order retailers.  Wanted some fittings for a scratch ship project, and had problems ordering from their web sites, with problems using the online ordering.  Bluejacket contacted me about an hour later by phone, and we resolved the issue.  Model Expo emailed me later with help for the problem and was able to resolve that problem too.

Vendors do read these forums!  Thanks to both I mentioned for great service!

I am surprised that they ignored your request while the kit was last in production.

If I visit the Chicago  iHobby Expo in October and Revell is there, I'll ask about it.

Dunno how they'd be able to help when kit is OOP.

FWIW........I'm in a similar situation as I notice my Monogram F-89 kit canopy has disappeared.

Must have been lost while re-boxing prior to my last move

However, I picked up a 1/32 F-15 from Revell some years ago now, that has a majorly "short shot" wing half. I've contacted Revell several times (online and by phone)...........................

..............................(still waiting)

Sorry to hear that, bro.Huh?
I don't see the 1/32 kit listed on the Revell website.
You may be waiting for a long , long, long time if the kit is no longer produced.Hmm

First attempt to get a replacement...I got a "sorry, OOP" response.

I contacted them again, a couple times, when the kit was re-issued several years ago (w/ "Tiger meet" mkngs)......nothing.

Guess I'll be using some sheet styrene and sandpaper when it comes time to build it.

When I was a kid...it seemed that every other Revellogram kit I got had some issue, that required replacement. They had a phone # on the instruction sheet...a simple call or mail in a the part # and kit #, and they always came through!

I once spilled a Coke (clearly my fault) on the decals to my Monogram TBF Avenger. I called Revell-Monogram and told them the truth and they sent me free replacement decals as well.

I had that happen back in the '90's with a Darrell Waltrip stockcar. I got them wet and ruined them, after getting the kit second-hand. They also replaced them for free, when they didn't have to. I'm glad their service philosophy is still the same!

I received an A319 kit as a gift that was missing the clear sprue.  They sent me a replacement.  It was relatively hassle free but it took a while to get the part.  Apparently if the part comes from Revell Germany it takes about 8 weeks.  If it comes from Revell USA it comes much more quickly.

SWEET! Good to know! And they knew you damaged them? Wow, they really went above and beyond.

Thanking Revell
Posted by Sprue-ce Goose on Sunday, August 11, 2013 12:44 PM

I contacted Revell requesting instructions on how I can pay for a replacement decal sheet after accidentally damaging the kit decals.

Revell mailed a replacement decal sheet to me;  no charge.

GREAT COMPANY ! Big SmileYes

Thanks, Revell !
