Internet Vendors
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, February 21, 2004 1:35 PM
With so many internet vendors selling models, whom truly has the best assortment and reasonable prices? I am looking for aircraft and ships...

Any thoughts?

Internet buying involves alot of comparison shopping. One vendor will be cheaper than another on one item, but higher on another. Shipping cost vary and must be figured in. As well as who has it in stock, and who does a lot of backordering.

Personally I buy from several different vendor's. I learn thru trial and error.

I'm with Tim all the way!!! I have about 10 internet shops in my favorites who I search for the same kit, before I buy. The funny thing is, when I go for PE, Resin parts, or references for a kit I usually end up ordering from 3 different sources!!!! And some only do A/C or only Ships, or only Autos, or a combo of everything!!! My top three are:
www.squadron.com
www.greatmodels.com
www.megahobby.com

All 3 have done great business with me, and are usually within a dollar or two within each other.

I agree with Tim, you need to shop around. I'll add www.rollmodels.com to the list as well. You can save some money on shipping if you order more than one kit. In other words, a single fee rather than mutiple fee per item if you ordered them from two sites.
