Strange glue

I went to a yard sale last Friday where I picked up a Monogram 1/48 OA-4M for $2. It was partially assembled with what I initially thought was tube glue. Turns out, he glued it with hot glue. There's a little distortion from where it softened the plastic in spots, but I've never been able to undo a partial build as quick as I can with this one. Never seen one like that before....

OMG! That's a new one, just when I thought I'd seen everything!

I used hot glue to reinforce the internal seams of the Polar Lights C-57 saucer panels.

Say What!?  How long did you sit there laughing?  Never seen or heard of that one before!

Eagle, it was more like a "WoooHoooo"! Otherwise, the cockpit was ruined, and then there's those pesky steps in the seams for the air intakes.

So it was a happy laughing that you got to start it over again.  That worked out well!  You should have taken before and after shots!

Here's some before shots; well, actually they're "right now" shots:

This is the seat/pilot I ripped off of the fuselage:

This one is the second seat after I removed the pilot, it wasn't mounted to the fuselage yet. A little picking at it, and it should clean on up:

Shouldn't be that hard to get off.  From what I can see, there is some nice detail in the cockpit area!  This will be a nice build......once you get it cleaned up and ready for some real building!  Smile

Yeah, buddy! I can't imagine, though, how Monogram didn't just go with a TA-4J version instead of this; there's lots more variety of TA-4J's vs only 23 airframes of the OA-4M.
