I've never seen much difference between the cheap stuff and the more expensive hobby shop version. Like Dirk I buy the small packs and then toss 'em when they dry up.

If you store your super glue in the fridge (the door of the  lower part, not in the freezer!), it will stay liquid longer.

I've had good luck with Harbor Feight Tools' gel super glue.  Three tubes for $1.99

For that exact reason, I buy the cheap stuff at Wal-Mart. Like, the two-packs or the five-packs for a buck or two. It's fine for adhering things, and if I need to fill a gap I augment it with baking soda as a sort of accelerant/filler. If the bottle dries out, I can toss it and open another one  without feeling the crunch in the wallet.

Zap-a-gap replacement?
Posted by 40kminis on Thursday, August 29, 2013 10:07 PM

As usual, my bottle of Zap-a-gap dried up before I could use the whole bottle. I made sure I always put the cap back on it too. For some reason I can't ever seem to use the whole bottle before it dries out on me.

Anyway, to get to me real question. I wanted to pick up a new bottle today until I walked into HobbyTown and saw it for $7.50. No thank you. Anyone tried the Hobby Lobby brand or the Hobbytown brand?

I've used the HobbyTown brand before but I wasn't too impressed. Maybe you guys have had better luck.

I'm in the USA and I live in a small town so I only have access to the stores in my area which are Michaels, Hobby Lobby, and Hobby Town.

BTW, Hobby Lobby's version is called "Extreme Power". So what superglue do you guys like the most?
