I know Tim and Aaron have been known to step in on heated discussions but I haven't seen the site maintenance aspect of moving threads into their rightful place.

Cadet Chuck

I just hit the "View Recent Posts" button at the top of the forum title page.  That way, I get to see everything that came in, in chronological order, since I last checked in, regardless of category.  I usually do this once a day, and look back a few pages until I get to about where I left off last time.

I also do this.

But does this forum have any moderator(s)?  The other forums I'm on have moderators that regularly check the forums, move misguided threads and add the appropriate note about it being misplaced.

Yes, there are certainly moderators here, and also some thoughtful members who help them do their job sometimes.Smile

I second Chuck on this. I've always thought this was the only logical way to do it. I like to see a little bit of everything, and this is much easier than cruising through each forum individually.

I believe that all of FSM's multitude of specialized subforms does more harm than good.

I tend to check a few of my "standard" forums; armor, general discussion, sci-fi. IF I happen to notice a new message in the Active Message List that catches my eye when I click on the home forum page, I'll check it out. If it doesn't, I'll never enter those other subforums.

There are probably dozens of posts that I could answer but are located in specialized forums I don't visit and therefore never see.

It's basic forum housekeeping, folks! Help the mods out!

Or even use the "SEARCH THE COMMUNITY" feature on the right side bar for more threads concerning the subject.

I'm from the government and I'm here to help.

I noticed that all but one of the new messages today are on painting, and the exception is on decals.  I really do recommend that people use the painting and decal forums for those types of questions.  There may even be a thread on that subject underway, and in any case I believe you will get better answers than posting it here in a general problems forum.
