You ordered only 4 days ago?
I'd say it's a little early to say they suck!

Do they suck? No.

Never had any problems. Great selection too.

Did you check your "order status"?

I checked the order status every day. They got 2 items that I wanted not even there. I asked for shipping.

It said order processing for the last 2 days. What does that mean?

The only bad experience I have had with them involved a pre-order. I won't do that again. I usuallly get an order back in about 10 days. Sometimes when they say in-stock, that means they can get it from their distributor. So in actuallity, it's not in the warehouse.

Most online shops should take 1~2 weeks to get the stuff to you, provided that thet got it on the shelf, or can get it in a day or 2.

Order processing usuallly takes 2~3 days stock will need to be checked, packed, payment sorted out, shipped, etc.

Most of those online shops deal with hundreds of orders, queries, trouble reports, etc EVERY day.

They don't suck. I have done a lot of business with them. They do a great job finding items that are hard to get.

If I was you, I'd feel lucky that they are processing your order so soon!!! I've waited up to 3 weeks for orders before!! (Not from Greatmodels) Sometimes, I wish that Greatmodels kept a better list of instock items.....I know it's frusterating finding out that your stuff may be backordered.....but in the end, it's worth it!!!

They use to be really good, but now sure do have a lot out of stock. I am still waiting on an order from 9/21/03 and 12/12/03. After getting replys that the stuff is in the mail three times now, it's getting pretty frustrating.

I've purchased plenty of stuff from GreatModels in the last 12 months. The key to a good relationship with them is patience, which for many in todays 'gimme it now' culture is hard to practice! I don't think GreatModels sucks.

Sigh [sigh] No, GM doesn't "suck." It "sips."

I've had good, swift processing and shipment from them when they've had items in stock or redily available. The problem comes about when some things are backorderd (and you give permission to backorder those items). If some items are in stock they will be shipped and you will be charged a shipping and handling (S&H) fee. If one of several backordered items becomes available they'll ship that item and charge for S&H. When any additional items become available (even if it's only a day or 2 later) they'll ship separately and charge for S&H.

It can get pretty darn' expensive pretty quickly. This frequently occurs even if you ask them to hold for a single shipment because they have limits on backorder length.

I remember ordering from this place called gundamshop.com about 40$ and they got my stuff in like 2 days. When they stay in stock they mean in stock

When many mailorder type places tell you to expect shipment in 4-6 WEEKS, 4 days is not a long time.

I have ordered many things from GMW and have always had great luck. Orders usually arrive within a week, always have been correct items, once they screwed up billing (in my favor) and when I pointed out their mistake they instisted that they take the loss rather than fix it. I ended up with a Monogram 1/48 EA-6B Prowler for $6.00 including shipping! They have always been straight with me and quick to respond to requests.

Um, yes, "suck" is bordering--certainly not very specific or, for that matter, particularly literate. "Any trouble ordering from Great Models" would have elicited just as many, if not more, responses AND would make a better impression on people visiting the site for the first time and perusing the tone of the discussion.

I will say my biggest dissapointment from a supplier was from Pacific Front Hobbies ( www.pacificfront.com ). I'll do everything in my power to avoid giving them another dollar of my money. A complete waste of time dealing with them.

Been dealing with them for some time and never had any problems they wouldn't fix. If I remember correctly, you can check the status of your order on their website.

They have made improvements to their website-- the main one being the option to do your search for "In Stock Items Only"-- this helps you to know how soon you'll get it. If it's not in stock-- it can take months.....

hotinhereee.

Whining and ranting on the board is not going to make your kits arrive sooner.
Like ajlafleche said if you want a kit NOW than you have to walk into a shop and buy it.

Most Online shops are very honest about their dealings and will tell you upfront what type of service, shipping times, backorder items, charges, etc you can expect.
For this you will have to read their FAQ or similar section on their website.

I normally only order OOP or rare items that I cannot get locally from the online stores.
