Fruils are a real pain and lot of time preparing them but the track sag and detail makes up for this .

The cost of the tracks is disappointing to the modeller being that the tracks would be more than the model in some cases .

The newer plastic kits coming out now do not need Fruils and I would to suggest not using them.

I'm a gluten for punishment because a model with Fruil tracks is like the icing on the cake.

BTW, has anyone had a problem with getting two left or right hand sets of tracks in the box?  I have had bad luck, with about four sets out of seven having this problem.  I usually cap the open holes with punched bolts and washers, but I find it irritating that a manufacturer goes to the trouble of making handed tracks and pointing this out in their instructions, but then sticking two of the same sides in the box.  Okay rant over.

Still, I agree that they look great, are very durable (something Modelkasten tracks aren't), and are unequalled in imparting the sag of dry pin tracks.

Thanks ;

I will have to agree with all of you . I do like the looks of them .And then there is those little bitty mold details .If I do more they will be FRUILS but I hope it will be a while and that they make the tracks for what I want .  Still , wow , what a tedious and time consuming job . Bye !

I am with Eric, I love them. All of my kits with rubber band tracks have been replaced with Fruils. I would also replace all those with indy link and even magic Tracks if not for the cost.

I have had no problems with the wire either. I do drill out each hole as a matter of routine now as sometimes they are blocked up, but I find that no biggy.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

I love the look of Fruils ,the only reason I don't use them more is the cost. Some guys use dress pins instead of the wire,me i never had any problems with the wire, nor do I find it necessary to use any glue,my tracks have been fine without it.

I wouldn't use MK tracks, they are almost as expensive and seem more difficult to assemble.

I don't mind Magic Tracks or the DS Tracks, both work well enough for me.

PS,I'm not sure if you are doing this, but just slide the entire length of wire in,and then cut it off,it's easier then trying to handle small track size pieces.

Hang in there, you will like the results for sure.

Friuls are awesome!  I would use them more often if not for the price. ModelKasten tracks are great too and a little more affordable but still up there.

FRUILMODEL TRACKS - Or Who talked this old man into this anyway ?

Hello :

Yeah . I sit here with 54 links out of 74 done ,On one side even .The Optivisor's gotten a workout so far . Why'd I do this ? I don't build Armor ? Well , I do . BUT , Not like when I was a kid and REVELL , MONOGRAM , RENWAL and others had those absolutely neat armor subjects .

Who,s that you say ? Well if you don't know you ain,t old enough . Anyway back to these FRUILMODEL tracks . Who's Idea was this anyway ? The kit came with perfectly serviceable plastic tracks .They clipped together neatly , I found this out later . I was told in no uncertain terms the plastic tracks were dog leavings and don,t mess with them .

Well , I have to ask who's dog ?  The kit tracks look awesome on my fictional bulldozer ! The FRUILMODEL tracks will look great on my " Dicker Max" too . Have any of you who build armor and NOT used this product wondered about both it's looks and ease ? of assembly . As to looks , well , it's accurate to the nth degree for this subject .Ease of Assembly ? Who said that ? There are two places on each link you have to check drill for wire clearance .Then you put the together on the tabletop Then you cut the wire they supply and slide it in where it goes and cut and superglue the resulting pin .VIOLA ! you have tracks ..

Now , there is the molding of these thingys in the metal they use .Good ? NO , Great is more apt . I have spent about 4 minutes of cleanup for 54 links . Is that good or what ? The links each have fine molded holes where they are supposed to be and the set comes with both sides in different baggies . They articulate easily and the top sag is nothing short of awesome .

I shouldn't say it .But stuff like this makes me want to build a " King Tiger (with PORSCHE turret ) aluminum gun barrel and all the P.E. it can bear .I did a MONOGRAM " STURMGESCHUTZ " years ago and I now wonder what that would look like with the right FRUILMODEL tracks and P.E. Schursen "ad infinitum"

All in all , bad eyesight notwithstanding , I would use FRUILMODEL tracks again .High Quality , well done product .For the budget minded NO .But for the adventure Yes !  .
