I may be getting a couple of freebie kits
Posted by BlackSheepTwoOneFour on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 2:41 PM

This morning I was talking to a fellow co-worker and the subject came up about how we all need to decompress from our jobs, family, etc... I told her I decompress by working on model kits and how I came back to this hobby after 20 plus years away.

She told me her husband used to do models and has a couple of kits lying around the house he never got around to doing for years. She told me she would give them to me. Not sure what kits they are but I'm curious as well.

Noting wrong with that at all. Enjoy the thought behind the gift. If the kits are not your cup of tea, pass them on to someone who would enjoy them or donate them to the troops overseas.

Hey Blacksheep,

Nothing wrong with free plastic!  Hope they are something you like and want to build.  If not, you have trade bait at your next model show or local club!  It's a win win!

Hey BST14 ;

What I,ve done on those rare occassions that's happened to me is build one that she will notice .Then if you don't like the others donate them to your local V.A. Rec . program .

I've gotten some free kits that were gems and others that were worthless- parts missing, parts badly painted, etc which had to go right into the trash.

Hope for some gems!  "One never knows, do one?"---- Fats Waller
