Scrambled Eggs
Posted by Sirocco on Friday, November 1, 2013 10:17 AM

Disaster,

This afternoon my grandson accidently destroyed my P-40 Warhawk and  P-38 Lightning Egg Planes.
Talk about feeling crushed Huh?

Having assured the little guy it was an easy fix, l can just buy a couple of new ones, I have come a cropper. Went on line to Hasegawa, as I no longer had the boxes, and found only the Warhawk, all the other little eggs were there (plus 2 new Jumbos for Xmas) but no Lightning.
Don't know If I'm going silly but I could of sworn they made the P-38 as well yet I can't find it.

Can anybody let me know where I'm going wrong ? if not Hasegawa, then who did make it? Pretty sure not Revell or Tamiya. Is it still available and where can I pick another one up from, so we can once again have a complete deck of Eggs.

Any advise would be gratefully appreciated Yes

Cheers

Steve

A quick Google Images search shows P-38 Egg plane

Hasegawa as the manufacturer.

Very puzzling why they re-issue everything else but the P-38Hmm

A quick search seems to indicate that the P38 Egg Plane is long OOP and considered rare (at least by the Ebay gougers). There's one on there with a $45.00 "Buy it now" pricetag..Indifferent

Thanks guys. $45 talk about sticker shock. Looks like a strip and repaint on the left overs and a diorama to be made. Maybe Glacier Girl in the ice.  :)

After viewing photos of the assembled Hasegawa kit, it appears only the cockpit is the Egg-citingly different section of the kit, while the rest appears to be an early marque P-38.

Did the egg shaped cockpit survive?

Is it possible to mate it with scale P-38 parts? Hmm

There is one going for $20 on eBay. You just have to know how to look.
