Using salt for paint chipping

Can someone dirct me to the discussion or aeticle describginh the technique of using salt to simulate paint chipping.  I read a refernec to it in last months issue but I am a new subsbriber.

Also search Youtube.com for Dr. Cranky he has several modeling videos and a few on salting.

you can use maskol and the like instead

also checkout  using hairspray for a more general weathering.
