Painting the edges of the glass (either black or body color) hides the edges of the glass. Otherwise, you get a reflection (looks kinda silvery to me) after you're done installing it.
No idea on the canopy paint. I just mask it, paint the inside color first, then spray the camo over it. To remove the dust, just use a toothbrush damp with water, and don't scrub over the decals unless they are sealed with a clear coat.
A soft brush and a bit of low pressure air from an airbrush is what I do for dust build-up.
