What kit have you held off on buying??
Posted by Jester75 on Saturday, November 16, 2013 7:55 PM

For myself, I have longed to have one of those highly rated, gorgeous Tasca Shermans, preferably the Firefly Vc. I have held off on this kit because generally the prices stay pretty high in the $50+ range. Well today while attending a show, I found one in a 50% off box and walked away with it for $30 bucks!! Was a great feeling to walk away with this kit I have wanted for a long time and only give that much for it.

So, what kit have you been holding off on to find just that right deal on??

The Revell A400 Grizzly looks like a great kit, but the price just won't come down. Maybe on Black Fiday!

The Trumpeter Fw-200C-3. Fifty bucks is just a little bit out of my price range at the moment.

What a great post!

I'm old school, and because of the price, mine would be the 1/72 B-52.  I remember buying it as a kid for $25 (and boy did I have to mow some lawns to pay for that!)!  It's hard to swallow the current prices for the kit.  But hey, one day, I'll find it on sale or NO ONE on evil Bay will see the ONE kit going for $20....With shipping!  Wink

That A400 and Fw200 look like beastly kits!!

Wasnt there a boxing of the B-52 that had the X-15 slung underneath one wing? Seems like I had this kit hanging from my ceiling when I was 13 or so for a loooong time. IIRC, I even used the bomb bay to hide money I had earned, lol.

Yeap....had one of those too!  I think it was a "Young Astronauts" series from Monogram.  That one is on my "Youth Wish List" too!

The Academy 1/32 F-18C when it came out. Saved up some Christmas money and gift cards to get my out of pocket down to $20. Worth every penny!

Waiting for a good sale price on the Trumpeter 1/32 A-6 Intruder and the 1/200th Bismark.

As a kid I remember buying the Monogram B-52 for $25, a good kit. Have one in the stash waiting to be built for the Buff group build if I ever get around to it.

Well I got the DML 1/35 Scud TEL and  Tamiya 1/48 Betty on clearance from a local chain hobby store years ago. Both at substantial discounts. And later the Tamiya 1/350 Yamato (original, not the re tool) from a LHS for 20% off before the prices on Tamiya kits jumped up a couple years back. As well as a couple of 1/350 IJN Cruisers at real good prices for those- one 50% off, and the other, well, if I did not know the seller persoanlly it would come close to quaifying for "receiving stolen property" under the California Penal Code ;-) Now I have held off on a couple of Dragon AFV its because I have yet to get the deal on those that will make me snap them up. And then there is the re issue of the Revell 1/48 Apollo Lunar Space Craft that I have been eyeballing...

Sir, you are considered armed and dangerous! Do exactly as we say or we will drop you!  Place your right arm out of the car window and open the driver's door from the outside!  Now exit the vehicle with you back to us and take three steps to your left with your hands behind your head!  . . . Cool

Sorry, as I know the seller and background of said kit, it does not qualify for 496 PC... but yes I am armed and dangerous,,, for, as my favorite fictional detective would say, the good  people of the County of Los Angeles,,,

Viejo, you are crazy. My 1/48 B-1 is big enough... a 1/32 B-36 would be a monstrosity

Its the Tamiya Betty for me. Just can't convince myself to spend $60+ on it. Almost won one a few weeks back but got outbid. I'll just make do with the 1/72 Hasegawa kit for now.

Sounds like a good idea.

Wonder if it is possible with the FSM software?

I'm sure it is. It seems that Tim has even mentioned sticky threads that had been stickied in other forums, but I dont see them.

No it wasn't bought when I got the first one but it's been in the stash for a good number of years. Keep meaning to start on it because she is a beauty but other kits just get in the way.
