Tamiya 1/350 Enterprise
Posted by Bricol on Sunday, November 17, 2013 1:34 PM

I have a Tamiya 1/350 Enterprise and am feeling a bit overwhelmed by the project.  I am looking for advice on what kind off pit falls to look out for, what would you do if you were to build it/had the chance to build it again, what after market parts do you recommend or think I should steer clear of, do you know of good decal sets, paints or painting tips?  In short, anything you can offer is appreciated!  Thanks and I am looking forward to hearing from you!

I built the older version and had no particular problems.  I wouldn't worry about aftermarket parts at this stage, as I don't think it needs any.  You can decide as you go along.  Just be prepared to do a lot of priming, painting, and sanding as this big beast will take a lot of it.  Consider using large cans of spray paint such as Krylon as it will cost a fortune if you use the little bottles of Model Master or whatever paint.

As for decals, there aren't many, the ones that come in the box should be perfectly fine.

Gimme a pigfoot, and a bottle of beer...

This was the second model I built after returning to the hobby 14 some odd years ago.  That was a mistake to say the least.  I would love to have at that again now..
