Moving need a new hobby shop
Posted by Coldsteel6d on Monday, December 9, 2013 1:59 PM

I am taking a job in Washington D.C. in February and was wondering if anyone can recommend any good local hobby shops. I mainly build 1-35 scale armor. I found one good one in Fairfax when I was up there this weekend scouting out places to live. Don't remember what it was called but it was by a Marshalls and a Best Buy.

Anyway just thought I would check with the experts to see if there are anymore places worth checking out. Anything within 50 miles D.C will be considered local to me. So Northern VA, Maryland or DC itself are all good.

Thanks

I've been to this one, in their old location. They are in Alexandria

First place I always go when I was stationed someplace was to the IPMS website: http://www.ipmsusa.org/ . Then I'd go to the chapters/region page and look for clubs in the new area. Some only had a phone number for a POC and others had websites with links to local hobby shops, museums, etc.

When I went to the Army Logistics Management College at Ft. Lee, I joined the IPMS and AMPS club out of Richmond. I know there was another club more north than that one though. www.novaipms.org/index.html

There's also a DC area club: http://www.ipmsdc.org/

Any of those guys would be happy to direct you to places to spend your money!
